Stoney Road has collaborated on several multi-media and theatre projects with various companies and artists and organisations including Nervous System, Operating Theatre and Tony Crosbie, and we also provided images for DJ’s such as Goldie/Metal Headz in the the old ’Blue Note’ days.
HERE LIES... We recently completed the theatre/film/multi-media crossover project ’Here Lies in film...’ Telling the story of Antonin Artaud’s life changing expedition to Ireland in the 30’s, and his subsequent deportation back to France, and taken from his letter written while incarcerated in an asylum, Here Lies... is a collaboration between the master Cinematographer Chris Doyle, the actor and creator Olwen Fouere, composer Roger Doyle (no relation), and filmmaker Simon Hudson. It was produced by Operating Theatre and Stoney Road Films and was Operating Theatre's final piece before they disbanded. Originally shot over a broken period from 2006-2007 from the installation performances in Galway, Dublin and Paris, it then went through a heavy and intensive editing process at Stoney Road Films over a period of eleven months until it was installed in Temple Bar Gallery as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival 2009 where it played for a five week period.
VOICES FROM THE INSIDE Art Installation Multi-media installation exhibition involving work of Irish prisoners and artist Tony Crosbie. Ireland. 2002. Over a period of six months Tony Crosbie taught prisoners to paint and to write, in a system where 90 percent of the prisoners can do neither. Thanks to the forward thinking of the Warden these prisoners were allowed to have their thoughts and images exhibited along with Tony’s work in a group multi-media show that included paintings, sculpture, written word, video and audio installations. Unique insight into those prisoners serving life terms, and the human beings behind the criminal.
Nervous System We have collaborated on several projects with the extrtemely talented physical theatre troup 'nervous system', including the perfomance projects 'Fireface', and ‘Aversion’.
